Transfer Update #2 – 27th May

In the Championship, midfielder Graham Dorrans has switched from West Bromwich Albion to newly promoted Norwich City after a successful loan period. Dorrans made over 150 appearances for The Baggies since joining in 2008, but was evidently not in manager Tony Pulis’ plans for next season.

Goalkeeper Adam Federici has moved to Premier League new boys Bournemouth from Reading on a three-year deal. The Australian international, known for his infamous error that cost The Royals a place in this year’s FA Cup Final, made 254 appearances for the club and has previously tasted two seasons of top-flight football.

In League One, central midfielder Martin Woods will be joining Micky Mellon’s Shrewsbury Town on a two-year contract. The 29 year old previously spent seven years at Doncaster Rovers and featured in the top tier for Sunderland during the 2005/06 campaign. He will arrive at Greenhous Meadow in July when his deal with Scottish Premiership club Ross County expires.

In League Two, Cambridge United have signed experienced utility player Keith Keane from Preston North End. Keane has had a frustrating couple of years with the Lancashire club, whom he made 12 appearances for last season. The U’s will hope to take advantage of the defender’s physical presence in a bid for promotion to the third tier after consolidating their Football League status.

Heading away from the R Costings Abbey Stadium is defensive midfielder Tom Champion who will re-join Conference winners Barnet. Champion began his professional career with The Bees and will hope to help avoid relegation next season after a two-year absence from the fourth tier.
