League Two Round-up
Yeovil Town have strengthened their backline with the additions of full-back Ryan Dickson and combative defender Stephen Arthurworrey. Dickson, 28, handed in a transfer request earlier this week to former club Crawley Town, prompting him to sign a two-year-deal with ‘The Glovers’. Fulham youth graduate Arthurworrey joins the club on a season long loan from London side. The move comes after the 20-year old spent the majority of last season at Huish Park as the struggled through an abysmal season in the third tier.
Luton Town have added experience to their squad by bringing in Northern Irish international Paddy McCourt as well as Nigerian defender Magnus Okuonghae. The well travelled McCourt spent time with Brighton and Notts County last season but failed to settle during short spells with the club. Before moving south he enjoyed 5 years with Scottish outfit Celtic, scoring 10 goals in 88 appearances for ‘The Hoops’. 29-year-old Okuonghae joins from Colchester United where he played over 200 games but missed out on most of last campaign after suffering a broken leg in early September.
Accrington Stanley have signed former Tranmere Rovers and York City goalkeeper Jason Mooney on a one-year-deal. The 6 foot 9 giant will compete with Ross Etheridge who joined from Derby County earlier on in the week.
Finally, AFC Wimbledon have added directness and pace to their wing play by bringing in former Scunthorpe United wide man Andy Barcham who decided to leave Portsmouth last month. The 28-year-old made 22 appearances for the Hampshire club last season, moving to Wimbledon should improve his time on the field an allow him to fulfil the potential he showed in his early year with Tottenham Hotspur.
