Goals from Jason Banton and Reuben Reid saw off promotion rivals Wycombe in the most eye-catching clash of the day. While Conor Chaplin’s brace went along way to securing the points for Pompey.

Newport County are now 3 points adrift of nearest rivals Barnet and Yeovil at the bottom of League Two. Terry Butcher’s side suffered another heartbreaking loss as the Glovers drew with an improving Wimbledon side.

A below par red devil’s afternoon was summed up by the dismissal of Gwion Edwards in the closing moments as they slumped to a 4-0 defeat. Exeter occupy the only other play-off spot following Christian Ribeiro’s dramatic injury time winner against Hartlepool.
