The Story So far

Tufan was seven years a Bursaspor youth player from 2005-2012 before making the recent leap into senior football. He slotted into them manager Ertugrul Saglam’s plans perfectly, filling the shielding defensive midfield hole with ease. First team opportunities dried out as Saglam was sacked in 2013, sparking a move to Europa League qualifiers Fenerbahce.

His move came with mixed success. He struggled to nail down a regular place in the league but was an integral part of Fenerbahce’s run to the last 16 of the Europa League.

So who’s interested?

With so many clubs circling the 21-year-old, it would be irrational to state which club he should sign for. Arsenal seem to be the most highly ranked among the team interested, and you have to feel his attacking talents would take a backseat under Wenger, with the Frenchman holding an abundance of offensive talent.

I was exceedingly impressed by Sam Allardyce’s recruitment in January, and it would not beyond the Black Cats boss to bring in another big name. Manchester United are also said to have been scouting the player for the past twelve months, and his performances on the international stage will only increase their interest.

The final two names linked with a move for the in demand midfielder are Southampton and Everton. Both will have big aspirations for the upcoming season and the addition of a hugely adaptable anchor midfielder could up their chances of a return to European football.
